A week ago (as I'm writing this, maybe 3 weeks once it gets posted) Night Owl posted his 83 Donruss need list and I saw that Wade Boggs was on it. Usually when I see a Red Sox on someone's want list I immediately think there's a chance I have that card for them in my doubles. However in Greg's case I knew better because I know that I don't have a Boggs Donruss RC at all. Unforgettable for a Red Sox collector right? It gets worse, I don't have his Fleet RC either. I see them at card shows and in shops all the time but they are like 20 a piece and I know if I just order it of ebay it will only be like 5 but I've never got around to ordering one.
I have the Topps RC which is to be expected of a Red Sox collector but I also have the way less common 1983 Fleer. Since I don't chase stamps or stickers that makes it more surprising I have it and not the regular Fleer RC.
The two Boggs rookies aren't my only oddly large hole that one would think I already owned. I don't have a Fleer Clemens rookie either.
Does anyone else have an easily filled hole in their collection that everyone would expect not to be there?
