Issues with Team Issues

I have problems with team sets.  First of all, most of them have no markings on them so it's hard to figure out what year there are from.  There are also sometimes subtle differences that are hard to catch like their name is spelled in ALL CAPS or with Just The First Letters Capped.  Sometimes they will use the exact same card of a players for years in a row while changing the photo used on the rest of the team.  All in all it is a pain to track down team issues.

I picked up a Pirates Team set that I haven't been able to identify.  There are 9 cards, all with facsimile autographs, which I am assuming it is a complete team set but I don't know for sure.  All the photos on them I have seen used on different sets before like 60s Jay Publishing, 61 Kahn, and 64 Sports Science and they are all semi glossy with a blank back.  The real kicker though is that they are all 3.5 x 2.5 and I can't find any early 60s team issues that are that size.  So what are they?

EDIT:  Somehow I broke the blog.  Don't know why the funny letter background change is happening.

So when you come across something like this how do you identify it? Maybe throwing it on a blog and pleading for help will work.  Probably not when I only have a few dozen readers.

I was thinking Dexter Press, but I'm pretty sure they all have stat backs. I'm looking through my SCBC.

Mark - Do you have any Red Sox team sets that are those dimensions?

Tom - I tried the Standard and couldn't come up with anything. I also tried searching for the Clemente because I figured there would be some Clemente collectors out there and I might get lucky but still nothing.

No I don’t have any Bosox that size. I went on Columbia City Collectibles site. Punched in Pirates. Scroll to 1960. There was a grouping of them that were the correct size,

Never heard of Colombia City. That's the right dimensions alright. only matching player though is Stuart.

I'm interested in the 68 Team Issue on there. I don't have a 68 Team Issue and have never known of a 68 team issue. Unless it's really the 69 Team Issue but I think it would mention Palm Trees not the number.

He has stuff all over eBay. As Cocicoco. Mike Moaier. Some of the stuff listed on his site is outdated. But you could get lucky

It turns out I have tried to contact this guy before. When I started typing his email address in it populated itself so that means I have sent him a message before. It seems in 2013 I emailed him about an Exhibit Virdon and a 1979 MLB TV Slide Virdon but never got a response. Hopefully my newest message doesn't go unanswered.

I’ve dealt with him numerous times. Sometimes it takes a while. He has a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable people on oddball type cards
