A Few 2008 Stragglers

Yes this is a begging post. I have a few straggler team sets form 08 that I would love to finish off before we get too deep into 09. I am one Chrome short and 2 Goudey short of a team set. I have a few different sets like the A&G Minis, Chrome Refractors, Topps Heritage, Topps Base, and Heroes Black that I am only 3-5 cards short on. I would really like to get these ones knocked off. The other sets I am not so close on but I liked the cards so much that I would really like to build a set. If you have any of these to trade please let me know.

2009 Cards added to my want list.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately I will be fixing that shortly (hopefully). I also have a few people (Aardvark, Junkie, & Blue jay Cards) to get back to about some trades that were (are still I hope) in the works.

I added 2009 to my want list. To access it either go from the link on the right side labeled Modern Red Sox Want List or use this one here. I have a bunch of 09 Heritage, Upper Deck and a few Topps to trade off. Maybe I'll post my extras after I get all caught back up on posting every trade I have received in the last few months. (Yes you see that correctly I have a looooong overdue trade post to publish that I got back in January, four months late isn't too late is it?)

Aardvark Pictures

I hope you are not here to see pictures of some furry animals because if so you are going to be disappointed. What you are looking at instead is some cards scans that were requested by Aardvark Trading. So without further ado...

Tiny crease in the top-right corner and someone liked him better for the Orioles, but it is still a 49 year of card of HOFer, Frank Robinson.

That isn't a cresase running down the middle it is a lack of ink on th ecard. Looks like a hair was in there when it got pressed.

Those are some kind of chip marks across Don's face.

Albie has a slight crease in the middle of the top of the card and niddle fo the right side.

Mays is in pretty good shape.

Vic is in the best shape of all of these cards.

Small crease by Gino's elbow in the small picture.

Fading, wrinkled, and wrote on. This card is in the worse shape of any on my 1960 Topps.

Let me know if you are still interested in these now that you have seen the scans.

Goose Joak, Penny and Carter

These guys nabbed the last two roster spots earlier this week.

It was a close race but Chris Carter got the roster spot over Jeff Bailey. Chris however is only on loan from Pawtucket untill Kotsay returns from back surgery.

Brad Penny got the nod to takethe ball in the 5th spot over young phenom Clay Buchholtz. Penny is coming back from an arm injury and if he can return to his old form he will be one heck of a guy to have in the 5 spot. Reports say he hit 96 on the gun in his last spring training game.
Just a few more days...

Trade with The Pettitte Pursuit

I recently dropped a surprise package on The Pettitte Pursuit. Luckly enough I sent him his first Pettite of 09. It turned out to be a really good thing I sent them because what I got in return was awesome.

One more 08 Red Sox A&G Mini to take off of the checklist. Hopefully I knock these out before the 09s get here.

A Red Back Mini Bucholtz. This is my 3rd 08 Goudey mini card. It makes me want to start collecting them, but I will be strong.

Be strong, who am I kidding; does anyone have some 08 Red Sox Goudey Minis to trade? Doesn't matter to me what color the backs are though. Card back papallels do not exist here at Thoughts and Sox.

A gold 08 Topps. This is actually the first gold card I received like this all the other gold cards I have are not gold bordered just gold foil.

Three 1/1 cards if I was a Bull $hit ebay seller.
These are actually 1/29, 29/29, and 150/150

2009 Yaz insert I didn'thave.

A Red Sox Auto of a guy most people never hear of. But here at Thoughts and Sox not only have we heard of him I was overjoyed to receive this auto. Jonathon got his cup of tea last year and I get his auto this year. Works for me.
Thanks for the cards Slette.

A gift

I have the best group of guys/girls that work for me. At Christmas this year they all pitched in together and bought me a leather Red Sox Jacket plus my secretary bought me a Red Sox lamp. I came to work this Monday and got this suprise from one of them:

The guy that works for me had a friend who went to Cardinals Spring Training and asked him to get some Red Sox autographs when they played each other.

When his friend got home he gave me the ball. It has a total of 5 signatures.

The autos are:
12 Jed Lowrie
63 Justin Masterson
64 Michael Bowden
75 Hunter Jones
95 Tye ______ I can't read this one and I haven't been able to figure out who it might be.
How luucky I am to have such great employees.

Free 1960 Topps Cards

These are the real thing too, not some new set set put out by Topps with current players. Real Forty-Eight year old cardboard.

Free you say??

I say, "Yeah, what day is it"?

Seriously, someone out there knows the real purpose of this post. Everybody else just enjoy some original 1960 Topps cards.

I have about half of this set for sell /trade. If anyone is interested in some real 1960 cards please let me know. I figure I will post what I have team by team in hopes someone offers me some Vintage Red Sox or the money to get some more Red Sox. Are there any teams out there someone wants to see me start out with?
