A New Auction And Buying Site Baseball-Cards.com

I have recently completed a could transactions with http://www.baseball-cards.com/.  I'm not sure how I stumbled across the site but I am glad I did.  Not only can you buy cards there but Joe has weekly online auctions and gives away a bunch of free stuff.

This first card is a 1960 Bill Virdon Tag-On.  I'm not quite sure how rare it is but I check eBay for Virdon cards every day and I have never seen this listed, nor have I ever seen it for sale on Beckett.  It isn't actually a card at all, it is some kind of sticker.  You can't tell from the scan but it is actually pretty big.  It stands about eight inches tall.  It was a pretty good find for me at $4.00.

The thing I like best about baseball-cards.com is that Joe has tons of oddball stuff.  You lacking on O-Pee-Chee cards like me?  How about a whole 85 team set for $3.50.

You can't really tell from the scan but the card on the right is a 1987 Fleer Glossy.  Fleer Glossy is one of those sets that I see on my checklist but I had never even seen one not to mention owning one.  I didn't just get The Rocket though...

I picked up the whole team set for a mere $3.00.

I also picked up a Yaz and a Taint Topps Cloth cards.  I have always wanted these two cards and they were very affordable. (I forgot to scan them so I swiped the picture off the bay, where I would have paid more for them...)

Those darn Canadians are stingy with their cards.  O-Pee-Chee hardy ever makes it to the mid-west from the home of hockey.  Again I got the whole team set for cents on the card.

These look like 75 Topps in the scan but they are not.  These are actually 75 mini cards.

Now I bought all those cards off his auction (plus more not pictured) and I wanted to add a card off of the regular site and save on the shipping so I called Joe up on the phone.  I asked if it would be possible to buy the 94 Upper Deck All-Time Heroes 25th Anniversary Virdon and ad it to my order.  Not only did he say sure but he told me he would throw the regular version in for free.

Speaking of free stuff one of the cool things about his weekly auction is the free stuff.  Joe lists a bunch of stuff at a negative starting price.  When you come across one of them all you have to do is bid zero and it is yours for free.

I recommend trying out his site and his auctions

Did you find him through me? I posted about wanting to try the site out and you commented talking about Beckett lol. Joe has tons of stuff that Beckett doesn't, and lots of oddballs also - great site, good recommendation here!

Also, follow up question - free auctions mean free card you owe shipping i assume. does he combine shipping (i.e. checkoutmycards), or is it different costs for each purchase (i.e. beckett)?

When I say free cards I mean that you bid zero on up to 10 cards (when you find them)and then he sends them to you free of charge with the rest of your weekly auction winnings.

Ah cool. I may have to get in on that, as a lot of the free cards are awesome, and a lot of the not free cards are cheap and awesome.
